London: Printed for the Author, by William Nicol, 1826. 8vo (210 x 140mm). Lithographed frontispiece and 2 plates (fore-edge of title chipped not affecting letters, title and plates lightly browned, some light mainly marginal spotting and staining). FINELY BOUND in later red crushed morocco gilt [indistinctly stamped by binder], spine elaborately gilt in compartments, gilt edges (some damage to upper 2 raised bands, joints and extremities rubbed). Provenance: Edward Motley Weld (bookplate). FIRST EDITION. Grimshaw The Horse 1309: "... some claimed, the greatest book on hunting ever written ..."; Podeschi pp.134-135; Schwerdt I, pp. 119-120: "... a scarce and highly valued work."
