Glasgow: Printed by Robert Sanders, 1664. Small 4to (180 x 143mm). Title printed in red and black within woodcut typographical border, woodcut device on verso of title incorporating the words "Lord, Let Glasgow Flourish through the Preaching of thy Word", initials and typographical headpieces (I1 and I2 torn and repaired with some loss, a few short tears, some spotting and staining). Contemporary calf, later endpapers (very heavily rubbed, corners worn, rebacked some time ago). Provenance: old illegible signature at head of title; "False" written twice in an old hand at the head of Chapter LXXV, with the following few pages scored through in ink, without compromising legibility. The work was first printed in 1661. Wing D394.
