This group is after the ‘Fighters’ or ‘Zapasnici’, the original conceived in 1924 by the Czech Cubist artist, Otto Gutfreund. Gutfreund’s model was later cast in bronze in an edition of 6 by the Fiorini Foundry, London, in 1965. See Christie’s, London, 8 February 2013, lot 26.
