The iron bed cast with the maker’s name to each side, three trains with barrels, deadbeat escapement with adjustable pallets

John Bailey (d. 1869) established the firm in Oldfield Road, Salford around 1832.  It continued after his death with his son William.  See Edmund Davies, Greater Manchester Clocks & Clockmakers, Mayfield 2007, p.89-91. for a brief history of the firm.

Condition report

In unrestored condition.  Steelwork corroded.  No pendulum. One crank key.
