Naturalistically modelled, the bird standing standing on an openwork base in the form of millet, 13cm high
Provenance: Alexander Aleco Ionides ( 1840-1898). By descent to George Alexander Ionides ( B. 1879).Thence by family descent
In the form of two quail, one looking upwards with detachable cover top its back, the other bird pecking from millet which forms the openwork base, later black painted characters to interior and underside of cover, 15cm high

Painted with green dragon and pearl to interior, the exterior with four roundels of dragon/phoenix, six character Guangxu mark to base, 12.5cm high 29.5cm diameter, together with a Chinese blue and white porcelain vase, probably nineteenth century, painted with various figures and sages, the mouth with lingzhi fungus, 43 high
Rinpa/Rimpa style, painted with cherry blossom or sakura on a gilt paper ground, 141cm high 309cm wide
18th or 19th century, Kano School, painted with various figures in strong winds, 155cm high 220cm wide
