With painted tusks, the trunk supporting a hanging hexagonal lantern, mounted on an oak wall backplate, 30cm high (the back)
Condition report:
A number of amethyst coloured glass panes to the lantern are broken and with losses and with general wear, marks, dirt and scuffs.
The elephant’s head also with wear, scuffing and general chips to the painted tusks and also to the edges of the varnished back wall mount, together with a few shrinkage cracks.
Will need to be rewired for electrical use and PAT tested.
Relatively heavy, will require a sturdy wall.
Tusks appear to be designed to terminate flat as they have a smooth painted finish and are the same length. They are also patinated bronze.
Measures 67 cm from top of plaque to bottom of shade; projects 45 cm ; plaque 30 cm x 25.5 cm.
