The bell top case with brass handle surmount, above a moulded pediment and panel door with arched moulding, between spandrels and glazed panel, flanked to each side by brass ‘fish-scale’ grille roundel and a rectangular panel, on stepped base and brass bracket feet, the associated movement with arched brass 8 in. dial with Chime/Silent subsidiary in the arch, pierced brass spandrels and silvered chapter ring enclosing a matted interior with false pendulum aperture and two cut-outs for the signature plate, above calendar aperture, the three train chain fusée movement, with substantial rectangular plates, foliate engraved, chiming the quarters on a carillon of eight bells and striking the hour on a larger single bell, anchor escapement with pendulum locking block, case and movement with dial associated

Condition Report:

1 pendulum. 1 case key.


The clock is in good condition.  It chimes and ticks.  The movement appears to be well maintained, and was probably last cleaned 25 years ago.  The case had some marks and veneer repairs, consistent with age.
