The hood with swan-neck pediment, above arched glazed door and flanked by fluted Corinthian columns, the trunk with arched panel door between a fluted Corinthian column to each side, with panelled plinth, on bracket feet, the 13 in. arched brass dial with silvered chapter ring, matted centre and seconds subsidiary, the substantial three train movement with anchor escapement, chiming the quarters on eight bells and the hour on a gong mounted on the case backboard
