The case with pierced brass frets to the sides and gilt brass drop handles, ripple moulding above the plinth on ball feet, the painted dial inscribed ‘J. Roger’s, Charing Cross, London’, Roman hours, the twin train movement with count wheel strike on bell, with winding key, the clock 40cm high; the bracket, 30.5cm wide

The case: 

Various repairs and restorations in areas, including a later section to the top right side of the stepped top. Numerous veneer shrinkage cracks , see extra photos. Also some shrinking cracks and movement also to the top and sides. A chipped corner to the back. Scuffs and chips around the key area. Later fabric backing behind the brass frets.

The dial has been repainted.
