Condition Report
the canvas appears to have been lined; and has been torn in numerous places with lines visible to the naked eye upper left, centrally and lower and left centre; the weave of the canvas is visible through the paint surface, possibly due to overcleaning and it is likely that the canvas has been cut down; numerous surface abrasions and areas of restoration visible to the naked eye; also a discoloured varnish; ultraviolet reveals retouching to the aforementioned restoration, suggestions of further retouching to the background upper left and right, however a thick opaque varnish prevents a comprehensive reading.
