Original dark green pictorial buckram gilt with an illustration of Christopher Robin and Winnie-the-Pooh stamped in gilt on the upper cover, top edges gilt, others uncut, map endpapers (without the dust-jacket, tiny faint scuff marks to the head and middle of the spine, some very light browning to the endpapers). Provenance: "E. L. C. Xmas 1926 from N. C." (very small, neat inscription at the top right-hand corner of the front free endpaper). AN EXCEPTIONALLY FINE, BRIGHT COPY OF THE FIRST EDITION.
