Half titles, frontispieces, plates and illustrations, EXTRA-ILLUSTRATED with c.70 engraved and lithographed plates, a few coloured, a few folding. FINELY BOUND by Bayntun (Rivière) in full navy blue crushed morocco gilt, the spines gilt in six compartments, marbled endpapers, gilt edges (scuff mark to rear cover of the first volume). Provenance: W. A. FOYLE, BEELEIGH ABBEY (red morocco armorial bookplate, from Christie's sale on 13 July, 2000, part of lot 852).
