Coloured lithographed political map, printed verse in the side margins (imprint effaced from lower margin, short tear at lower edge of map with very slight and inconspicuous loss, a few other marginal tears without loss, lightly browned), 465 x 665mm., framed and glazed. "Political comic map of Europe with verse relating to nations. References to Treaty of Frankfurt, and to relations between Italy and Papacy, suggests date of 1871" (BL Cat.). Provenance: Barnard Gallery, Uxbridge (old stamp on verso). RARE.

Condition report
Some tears to edges, including but not limited to; upper left, a vertical tear approximately 4cm long; upper centre right approximately 2cm; centre left horizontal tear approximately 6cm long (looks to have been stuck back together); and centre right. Small holes and tear lower centre to black border around map.
Various other marks and creases, especially to outer areas, corners and edges.
Discolouration to paper.
Under glass, unexamined out of frame.
