Title with woodcut oval printer's device, New Testament title within woodcut foliate border, woodcut illustrations and maps, some full-page, headpieces and fine foliate initials (marginal repairs to first and last few leaves including title, some light mainly marginal browning and staining, a few darker spots, lacks leaves of "Interpretation des noms propres Hebrieux ..." at the end, a few leaves cropped or shaved). Contemporary calf (very substantial modern repairs including the whole of the spine, later endpapers). Provenance: "Reçu pour mille huit cents" (old inscription on title); inscriptions by Jacques Clary dated 1679 at the head of the first page of Genesis and upper margin of New Testament title; some old annotation; old arithmetic on front pastedown. Not in Brunet; Cartier Biblia sacra vulgatae editionis p. 501; Chambers French Bibles 335; Lelong 345, 347. With La Bible, qui est Toute la Sancte Escriture du Vieil et la Nouveau Testament (Geneva, Par les Heritiers de Hierolme Haultin, 1615, 2 parts in one vol., later reverse calf). The lot sold not subject to return. (2)
