Half title, 8-pages of publisher's advertisements dated July 1855 bound in at the front before the front free endpaper, one page of advertisements at the end. Original green cloth boards decorated in blind, spine lettered in gilt, yellow endpapers. Provenance: Charles [?]Bones, Sept. [?]11th 1855 (signature and 2-line quotation from "Maud" on front free endpaper). A FINE COPY OF THE FIRST EDITION, FIRST ISSUE. The collection includes the first appearance in book form of, arguably, the poet's most famous work, "The Charge of the Light Brigade". Hayward English Poetry 248; Tinker 2080; Wise Tennyson 58.
