London: John Lobb, 1907. 8vo (185 x 125mm). Monochrome "photographed" frontispiece and illustrations, some full-page (G2 torn at margin without loss, some very faint marginal browning). Original red pictorial pictorial cloth decorated in gilt and blind (the spine a little faded, some very light staining). "The first edition [of 1906] of two thousand copies of 'Talks with the Dead' were bought up within a few months, without the ordinary trade methods of 'subscription,' 'on sale or return,' and advertising. Letters have reached me from all parts of the world, and the crowded audiences to hear more, testify to the awakening" (from the author's preface, dated July 1907).
