Hand-coloured engraved map of New England from the St. John River in the north to the Delaware Bay in the south, elaborate title cartouche incorporating a European trading with a Native American chief, blank on the verso, 483 x 574mm., unframed. Philadelphia and Boston are shown as the principal settlements; "New York" (or "New Amsterdam") and "Manhattan" are not named. The eastern part of Cape Cod is shown as an island.
