London: Elliot Stock, 1882. 4to (250 x 195mm). Initials and decorations (some very light mainly marginal spotting and staining). Contemporary vellum ruled in red (stained). Provenance: Algerina Peckover (label); "J. H. to A. J. 18. viii. 1865" (inscription on front free endpaper). A limitation slip inserted at the front, partly in manuscript, reads: "A Noble Boke of Cookery [?]13 Copies Printed on Large Paper. No. 6. Date July 31/83. Elliot Stock." With 11 other miscellaneous books including Felix Cary's Histoire des Rois de Thrace et de ceux du Bosphore Cimmerien eclaircie par les Medailles (Paris, 1752, 4to, engraved plates, attractively and distinctively bound in contemporary marbled sheep, rubbed and scuffed), Hannah Glasse's The Art of Cookery, made Plain and Easy ... A New Edition (London, 1788, contemporary calf, worn, upper cover detached), an English manuscript cookery book, dated 1772, on c. 110-pages, in soiled contemporary vellum, with flap, and a French [?]early 19th-century manuscript titled "Recettes et Renseignemens divers". Provenance: The Property of the late Tamara Lo.
