Original paper boards lettered in white with coloured pictorial label by Beatrix Potter mounted on the upper cover, pictorial endpapers (stain to upper cover affecting label, top upper corners rubbed, inner hinges weak, some wear to endpapers). Provenance: "Claire Ferguson's Book. Given her by her Uncle Horace and Aunt Ethel at Xmas, 1903" (inscription on front free endpaper). FIRST EDITION.
