SCHUBERT, Franz (1797-1828). Symphonie C Dur. für grosses Orchester. Leipzig: Breitkopf und Härtel, [1849]. Large 8vo (247 x 160mm). Engraved title and music notation (severe tear and crude repairs to pp. 27/28 [i.e. one leaf] with slight loss, some staining throughout, but more pronounced to the margins, some leaves creased). Original textured cloth lettered in gilt (extremities frayed, spine faded, inner hinges split, some signatures starting). Provenance: "Musik=Verein" (stamps to title and last page); from the Collection of the late Dr Elkan Lewis (1931-2020). FIRST EDITION of the full score of "The Great C major Symphony" (usually known as the 9th, and the composer's last), first issue, with "Pr. 10 Thlr." and code number "7954".
