Engraved title, lithographed musical notation throughout (spotted and stained). Contemporary roan-backed marbled boards (lacks original printed wrappers, rubbed and scuffed, inner hinges weak or broken). Provenance: substantially marked up in red and blue crayons and pencil, presumably by a conductor for a performance; "Kur-Verwaltung, Wiesbaden" (stamp on front free endpaper); publisher's stamp at foot of title; from the Collection of the late Dr Elkan Lewis (1931-2020). FIRST EDITION of the composer's first work for full orchestra and the first to appear in print, composed when he was just twenty-five.
