Provenance:
The pencil number relates to a tiger shot by Col. J. Loch and taken to Van Ingen on 26th March 1930 and agrees with Van Ingen records. Colonel John Carysfort Loch (1877-1974) was a Member of the Royal Company of Archers and the Queen's bodyguard for Scotland.
Condition report:
The head with a chip to the side of the open mouth, rightside facing the tiger, Otherwise, general wear and tear to the head - wear to the nose and edges of the ears.
The main body, with a claw off and loose (attached in back) to the left side front leg. Other areas with general wear and tear, fading. The felt backing with the odd moth holes, some have been repaired..
Other inevitable signs of wear and tear commensurate with wear, use and age.
