The cup, the handles cast and chased as phoenixes forming a stem on a circular foot, makers mark indistinct, St Petersburg first half of the 19th century, width including handles 11cm, weight 98 gms, the kovsh mounted with a rouble from the period of Emperor Alexander III 1883, Russia circa 1890, apparently unmarked with French import marks, weight 96 gms
