The case decorated with floral sprays on a yellow ground, with pierced brass grille sides, standing on a plinth base, the enamel dial inscribed ‘Biesta a Paris’, Roman hours and Arabic minutes, the movement with countwheel strike on bell, silk suspension, pendulum and key, 59cm high
Condition report:
Overall losses to the decorative paintwork of the case, with areas lacking to the front below the dial. The base also with losses, shrinkage, wear and worm.
Tarnishing to the mounts and rubbing to the gilding. Mounts slightly loose and with gaps noticeable to the base, probably where the base as slightly shrunk.
Green lacquered backing to the grille sides is worn and damaged with numerous holes.
The dial with light hairline crack running from the number 60. Minor losses to the winding holes.
The movement will need a thorough overall by a qualified clock restorer.
