Bidding ended. Lot has been sold.

Condition Report: The frame - The mount looks to be in generally good condition with one or two tiny perforation. It is however very dirty and no pile to the velvet survives to the front. The Vesta case hinge is a little loose an does not close tightly. There are a few shallow dents to the sides. The hallmark is clear, the bow brooch is associated. There is a significant chip on the hinge side edge, also under strong light, several hair cracks are apparent. The enamel otherwise has a few surface marks. There is some distortion to the inner framework. The cartouche to the front of the vesat has had no previous engraving. The cigarette case is marked 'GOLD CASED'. The back of the exterior of the case is rubbing down to brass on the high points. The original finish lookd to have been silver plated, the reference to 'GOLD CASED' is something of a mystery. Size of case 8cm x 5.5cm.
