A good quality Indo-Persian talwar with a deeply curved blade struck with indistinct marking, the hilt of typical form with swollen grip, recurved crossguard and large flared pommel, the disc with fine sunburst chiselling to the underside and pointed spike finial. In its black leather-covered scabbard with long iron chape and matching locket, overall length 95cm
