A curved single-edged blade etched and gilt with crowned Royal arms, martial trophies and foliate decoration, and a presentation inscription dated 1803"Presented by the Non-Commissioned Officers, Drummers and Privates of the Tullibody and Menstrie Company of Volunteer Infantry to John Moubray Esq., their Captain, in testimony of their inestimable regard for him as an officer and a gentleman."

the gilt-brass hilt cast with acanthus leaves and a beaded ferrule, the grip of spiral-carved ivory, the backstrap in the form of a horse’s mane terminating in a horse’s head pommel. Overall Length 86cm
