Original canvas; stretcher marks to each border, otherwise paint surface appears sound; Ultraviolet reveals retouching to the dog's coat, lower left; around the central figures; flecks in the the sky, upper right; possible traces of old retouching in the sky, upper left. Held in a plaster gilt frame with some old marks and scratches.
