The Rose and Crown pub in Mayfield is opposite 'Yew Trees', the house where Symons lived with his family having left London in 1896. They moved to Robertsbridge in 1900.
Condition Report
Original canvas; a few lines of craquelure to the paint surface, otherwise good, clean overall condition. Ultraviolet reveals no sign of retouching. Held in a plaster gilt frame in fair condition.
