The canvas has been relined. Some traces of craquelure, otherwise the paint surface appears to be in good overall condition. Ultraviolet light reveals infilling to craquelure in the sky, upper centre and upper left, extensive retouching to frame abrasions along the left hand border; strengthening to signature. Held in an ornate plaster gilt frame, a few chips to gilt work but generally in fair condition.
