Condition Report
The canvas has an old relining.  Areas of dirt to the paint surface and traces of a discoloured varnish; spots of staining in the upper right quarter.  Minor surface abrasions in the sky, upper left, to the sail, centre and to the foreground, lower right.  Ultraviolet light reveals no sign of retouching.  Held in an ornate plaster gilt frame in fair condition.
