Condition report
Original canvas, the canvas is loose and coming away from the stretcher in some areas. Paint surface is dirty but appears sound beneath the dirt. Small repair, lower centre with corresponding patch to reverse. Tear and abrasion, lower centre. Ultraviolet reveals suggestion of some previous retouching but a discoloured varnish prevents conclusive reading.
