Designed as a stylised flower set with a cabochon emerald center and marquise-cut sapphire petals to the openwork scroll shoulders, in green leather case, the inner silk lining inscribed by hand 'Dolly'. With original Christies catalogue, certificate of provenance from Kensington palace and sales receipt from 2006. Ring size O 1/2 plus, the band is oval and cannot be accurately sized.

H.M. Queen Mary had three younger brothers, the eldest of whom was H.R.H. Prince Adolphus of Teck. He became the Marquess of Cambridge and married Lady Margaret Grosvenor, daughter of the 1st Duke of Westminster, and was known to family and friends as 'Dolly'.
