Provenance: 

Acquired by the vendor's family at some point during the early part of 20th Century, who were based in Hamburg and part of the shipping freight industry. 

The Berlin based foundry, Aktein-Gesellschaft Gladenbeck, operated from 1851 until 1926 and was one of Germany's most significant foundries, producing some of the most important bronze castings of the day to the highest of standards.
