Aktien-Gesellschaft Gladenbeck was one of the most prestigious foundries located in Berlin, Germany, that operated from 1851 until 1926.It was one of the most famous. The 'Goldelse', better known as 'Victoria', standing on top of the Victory Column in Berlin, Germany was cast by Gladenbeck.
Hussmann was a very successful equestrian sculptor during his lifetime; studying at the traditional Academy of Fine Arts in Berlin with his career success recognised by the Prussian Emperor, William II, who awarded him a Gold Medal for Arts.
