A PAIR PARCEL-GILT RED LACQUER SIDE CHAIRS OF 17TH CENTURY VENETIAN STYLE

Condition report: 

Good decorative condition overall. 

Caning is intact although there might be some very slight ‘give’ but no obvious holes. Old worm holes in areas, over the frame. Both top rails might have had a scallop-shell motif, which as been lost to both sometime ago. 

Otherwise, general inevitable scuffs to extremities and edges, scratches, dents, chips and losses to the paintwork, commensurate with wear, use and age. Notably, one of the H-stretchers with more loss to the paint work Dirt and dust.
