A GEORGE II PARCEL-GILT AND WALNUT MIRROR

With cartouche and broken swan neck crest, 68cm wide; 136cm high

Condition report: 

The mirror has been refreshed and restored at some point. 

Later gilt work to the sides and areas of the front, some of which have oxidised a little.

 Carved side tassels have been reapplied with some losses and chips. The top crest is loose and resecured with a recent screw and missing element to the back as a support. 

Other wear, rubbing, scuffs and chips commensurate with use and age. 

The veneers with various shrinkage cracks. Veneers have been repolished at some point. 

Mirror plate is more than likely to be later associated, with loss to silvering, and general oxidisation,  later back boards.
