Condition report:

Overall various marks, scuffs, water marks and abrasions commensurate with use and age.

Timbers have shifted with age, with the back boards being later braced at the sides, and the sections or dividers between the drawers not aligned fully on the right side so the the drawer and divider are not fully flush or flat to the sides.

Later drawer handles with small vacant holes from previous sides.

A section missing at the top left side and a repaired patch in the same areas on the right side. Also moulded edge of top worn and slightly split.

The height and configuration of the drawers would suggest this is a base of a linen press . The timbers to the top have shrunk a little, with a slight gap between, and are a good match to the base but relatively thin. The underside shows that they’ve been braced.

The feet have been tipped crudely, as can be seen from the photos.
