The top of the clasp set with turquoise cabochons and an old cut diamond, the reverse of the clasp signed 'Jane Gordon B 11th Feb 1807 D 21st July 1824", the clasp opening to reveal a hairwork panel, with date "21 July1824", on a fancy link bracelet, measuring 18cm in length, in unmarked gold, gross weight 65.8 grams

Lady Jane Hamilton Gordon 1807-1824, who died unmarried at age 17 at the Priory in Stanmore, was the daughter of Catherine Hamilton Gordon, Countess of Aberdeen and George Hamilton Gordon, British Prime Minister (from 1852 -1855) and 4th Earl of Aberdeen.
The couple had four children, none of which lived to be 20. Following the death of Catherine Hamilton Gordon, the Earl remarried and had a further five children, but wore a mourning ring for Catherine for the remainder of his life.
