From a GWR 9400 class of steam locomotives, with 0‑6‑0 Pannier Tank. The Number 9490 was among those built by the Yorkshire Engine Company under subcontract in the mid‑1950s. Specifically, the 9490‑9499 batch was made in 1954–1955. These locos were built for branch line and shunting work until being retired from the 1960's onwards, 50cm wide
