Condition Report; There are four hallmarks to the underside, no hallmarks to the hinged lid, the finial is probably a replacement. There is what appear to be one mark within the lid that may just be a flaw to the silver, it is not discernible, handle is cracked to the top and has a large chip at the bottom of the wood. The square nut within the lid looks a little crude and is probably also replaced. There is a spinning within the lid, rather like the surface of a record, which could indicate restoration or possibly a replacement cover
