The rectangular case inlaid with engraved cut-brass and mother-of-pearl, with a brass carrying handle above the glazed signed dial (restored) with blued steel moon hands, and flanked to each side by a chevron-shaped glazed aperture, the twin train movement, wound from the front through the case, just below the dial, with cylinder escapement, the escape wheel mounted between the rectangular plates as part of the train, the balance wheel within a cut-out in the top of the back plate, secured by a jewelled cock, the strike work mounted on the back plate, striking the hours twice on a bell and the half
