Condition Report; The ink bottle; the silver mount is marked to the collar, the lion passant and leopard's head are double struck marks and a little indistinct, the date letter S is good condition, the maker's mark is not clear. The folding top cover shows signs of repair to the hinge mount and this top cover has no marks and may well be a replacement. The glass has a few tiny nibbles to the facet edges, otherwise in good condition.
The inkstand; there is a jeweller's scratched code mark underneath, there are also two small tabs holding the platform to the frame visible from the underside which may not be original.
The has generally been professionally cleaned, the marks are clear and looks to be in good condition. No sign of erased inscription
