Condition report:
A repaired set - one carver has a top rail which has been replaced with a plainer rail, many other chairs with repaired top rails where they join the upright supports.
The seats are re-caned, beneath the later padded lift-off seat. The caning is generally in good order, although one with a hole at the back. The seat rails are stamped ‘GEE’ and with some variable initials. Some of the stamps are concealed by the caning.
The central horizontal splats with odd roundels - seven with one plain and one leaf carved, the plain one a replacement for each chair. One side chair with two plain replacement roundels.
Various other inevitable scuffs, scratches, dents, some chips (notably to some feet) and marks commensurate with wear, use and age.
