The Atmos Millénaire Atlantis was designed by Robert Kohler for Jaeger-LeCoultre to celebrate the new millennium in 2000.
Jean-Léon Reuter invented the Atmos prototype clock in 1928 and since 1935 these have been in production, celebrated by fans throughout the world. The clock derives its perpetual energy from the expansion and contraction of a gas-filled capsule. The responding minute changes in temperature drive the expansion or contraction of the cylinder and, in turn, this physical energy gives drive to the mechanism.
