The snuff box cover depicting classical Roman busts, 8.5cm diameter, together with a mother of pearl and abalone visiting card case, length 10.5cm and an octagonal tortoiseshell thimble case, 3cm high (3)


Provenance: Hylda and Lewis Gilbert, Sheldrake Place, London. 

Lewis Gilbert (d.2018), the celebrated film director, producer and screenwriter, best known for his 007 James Bond movies and Alfie.


Condition report: 

The pressed tortoiseshell lid and burr maple base could be an association. Various scuffs, chips and knocks to the tortoiseshell. The maple base is tortoiseshell lined. 

The card are with tarnished silver diamond shaped engraved tablet to the centre, loose hinge and loose piece of veneer. 


Octagonal thimble case with a few scuffs including a small chip to the edge of the lid.
