-Five large black and white vintage photographs of Lewis Gilbert directing Operation Daybreak on location in Prague, 1974, all either 27 x 37 cm., or 37 x 27 cm., and two smaller black and white prints of the same subject, both – 19 x 24 cm.;
- A black and white contact sheet of photographs by Peter Small of Gilbert in conversation at The National Film Theatre, 25 October 1995 – 30.5 x 24 cm.;
- A colour photograph of Diana Princess of Wales with Anthony Andrews meeting Lewis and Hylda Gilbert at the premiere of Haunted, 26 October 1995 – 15 x 21.5 cm.;
- A colour snapshot of Roger Moore and Gilbert in Cannes, circa 1990s – 13 x 18 cm.;
- A vintage black and white still of a young Gilbert in an unidentified film – 19.5 x 25.5cm., with a later print of a black and white still of Gilbert in The Divorce of Lady X, 1938, with Lawrence Olivier – 12.5 x 18 cm.;
- A black and white still of Gilbert receiving his BAFTA for ‘Best Film’ for Educating Rita from Diana Ross in 1984 – 20 x 25.5 cm.;
- Two black and white press stills of Gilbert as Captain if the football ‘Showbiz XI’ and a later print of a 1940s photograph of Gilbert RAF uniform;
- A personalised leather script folder, the front and back covers hand tooled with an image of a director’s chair, the front with Lewis Gilbert’s name on the back of the chair, the back cover with the name in Japanese script, the interior with a leather marker with Gilbert’s name again in Japanese script, initialled lower left T.S., probably Japanese actor Toshira Suga, who appeared as Drax’s henchman Chang in Moonraker, 1979;
- A file of documents labelled in an unidentified hand, possibly Gilbert’s Legals / Agreements / Paramount, containing paperwork on various subjects dating from 8 November 1966 to 13 January 1969, including a file copy of a letter from Gilbert to George ‘Bud’ Ornstein at Paramount Pictures in London, 20 November 1967, confirming that I have been offered the film rights in “CABARET”……it is a very easy film to cast, with a marvellous part for Julie Christie…,1p.; and a memo to Gilbert on Adventurers Film A.G. headed stationery, 13 January, 1969, relaying information from two telexes received by the office from Charles Bludhorn at Paramount informing Gilbert that I am pleased to advise you that Martin Davis, Bobby Evans and myself are in full agreement for you to do Roman Holiday for Paramount…1p.
- A BAFTA ‘21st Academy Awards Presentation’ souvenir brochure and corresponding ticket for the event at Grosvenor House, London, 18 March 1990 – Gilbert had been nominated for Best Film for Shirley Valentine, as had Willy Russell for ‘Best Adapted Screenplay’ and Pauline Collins won the BAFTA for ‘Best Actress’; Gilbert, much to his surprise, was presented with the Michael Balcon Lifetime Achievement Award; recalling in his autobiography All My Flashbacks, that he and Hylda had decided to leave the ceremony just before the Balcon award was presented as they were tired….”Quick” I said to Hylda, “some old buffer’s going to get up and drone on forever. If we don’t shift, we’ll be here until three in the morning…., on leaving they heard a list of his films being reeled off by Princess Anne who was presenting the award…..In a total daze I walked down the aisle and up onto the stage….”I’m so tired” I said to Princess Anne “I was just about to slip out”…”You wouldn’t have got far”, she said. “We have people on the doors for that”.
