Condition report:
Overall, wear, dirt and losses to painted surfaces, together with chips, small losses and wear to the timber notably to edges, commensurate with age and use.
Shrinkage and constructional movement, most noticeably to the back between hinged dome lid and base, with gaps adjacent to worn iron hinges, with remains of wire embedded to the sides of the iron hinges.
Wire handle to the top of the lid.
Old worm holes to some planks, notably to the back and sides.
Iron clasp lock possibly a replacement, with two later screws.
Four circular holes to each corner of the base of the box.
