With gold thread bands and raised rosette
one with a label for Gundry & Sons, Boot & Shoe Makers to The Queen, The Prince of Wales, The Royal Family, H.R.H. The Duchess of Kent, and the Princess Charlotte of the Belgians, 1 Soho Square, London

with a linen bag inscribed 'Queen Victoria's shoes, 1 pr black, 1 pr white & gold'; and also a green and blue box inscribed 'Queen Victoria's Slippers' which bears a label inside for Mrs Cooper Ladies Boot and Shoe Maker, 28 Milsom Street, Bath.

Provenance:
Gifted by Queen Victoria to her Mistress of the Robes, Harriet Sutherland-Leveson-Gower, Duchess of Sutherland.
Thence by descent to the Chaplin family via her granddaughter Lady Florence Sutherland-Leveson-Gower, who married Henry Chaplin, 1st Viscount Chaplin.
Sold by the Chaplin family; Victoriana Sale, Burwell Auctions, 13th May 2000, lot 639, where acquired by the present owner.

Condition report:
- Overall in generally worn condition, numerous tears to the silk and some losses
- Soles have deep scratches but are secure
- The gold thread has discoloured 
- The bag has a large split running halfway down the seam, a few small holes and stained
