The hinged cover opening to reveal a mirrored glass plate

Condition report
- Mahogany veneer on hardwood possibly oak
- Some light warping and shrinkage cracks
- Large split to ebonised bun handle knob possibly associated
- Hinge with two replacement screws and a gouge to the wood on left side of the hinge
- Large piece of veneer missing from underside
- The removable eyepiece possibly lignum vitae, the cap possibly later
- Interior mirror plate with speckled foxing
- Frosted glass with corners truncated and nibbled edges
- The lens is removable but does not have any focusing adjustment
- No apparent makers mark or name
- No provenance on this lot
